Preprints are scholarly papers that are shared publicly before they have undergone formal peer review and publication in a scientific journal. They allow researchers to rapidly disseminate their findings to the academic community and the public, fostering early feedback, collaboration, and transparency. While they can accelerate the pace of scientific communication, it's important to note that preprints have not been vetted for accuracy or validity through peer review, so their findings should be interpreted with caution until formally published.  Preprints are often shared on preprint servers to allow for early dissemination of research findings and feedback from the scientific community before formal publication. Preprints offer a way for researchers to share their work quickly and receive feedback from their peers.
